"Taken at 221 Grove Ave. Ernest Hemingway aged 6--in center; Sister Ursula, 3 yrs., to left; sister Marcelline aged 7 yrs. at right. (Fall of 1905) Taken in Oak Park Ill. in front yard of 221 N. Grove Ave. near to Scoville Library. We lived here one year while Kenilworth Ave (20 room 8 bedroom house was being built. We moved to new house 1906. This was taken as Ernest & Marcelline started grammar school. Mother kept Marcie out to start with Ernest. (Lined out): 439 N. Oak Park Ave. where the first four Hemingway children were born--this was Grandfather Ernest Hall home where we lived. The house across the street was Grandfather Hemingway house."
